Viewing and Editing Matters

To view the details of a previously created matter select the name of the matter from the Matters list. After doing this you will see a screen detailing the matter information on the top half of the page. On the bottom half of the page tabs will be displayed that provide a snapshot of various information related to the matter.

In the upper right-hand corner of the screen users will see a box containing various icons. Some of the icons displayed will be familiar to users from other areas in TaBS, while others are unique to the Matters menu.

Below is a summary of the icons displayed on the Matter detail screen:

Creation Details: Details on who and when create / update the Matter.
Print: Ability to pring matter details.
Matter Report: Allows the user to create a statement, collection letter, or matter file for the client and matter, either in pdf or docx format.
Transfer: Provides users the ability to transfer the matter to another billing partner or billing manager in the organization by selecting their name from a drop-down menu.
Create Billing: Transfers the matter information to the Billings menu so that users can create a New Billing for the matter.
Close Matter: Can only be accessed after a billing has been created for outstanding Timesheets and Disbursement. To reopen a previously closed matter, select the red stop sign again.
Matter Writeoff: Directs you to the Matter write-off screen of the Billings menu. Information for the matter will be transferred into the fields, allowing the user to complete the matter write-off process.
Bookmark: Can be used to turn a bookmark on or off for the matter. Once the matter is bookmarked it will appear in the bookmarks sub-menu as well as the Matters pop-up window.
ShareLink: Allows you to send the matter screen you are viewing to another user within your organization. To send a link to the matter page, select the user you would like to send it to from the list of names in the drop-down menu. Additionally, a field is provided so that users can send a message along with the link.
Edit: Redirects to the add matter page, automatically filling in the fields with the information that was previously entered. Once there, users can add or change the fields associated with the matter.
Listing: Returns users to the Matters menu home page.
