Entering Time - Non-Chargeable

When entering time users can differentiate between chargeable and non-chargeable time. This feature allows time keepers to track their time spent doing things not associated with a specific client. Examples of non-chargeable time include activities like business development, leave, seminars, and administration.

Entering non-chargeable time from the Timesheets menu
To enter non-chargeable time you will begin by following the same path as if you were going to enter chargeable time. Begin by either selecting add Timesheet from the Dashboard tab or select the Timesheets menu from the menu bar. Next, navigate to the Timesheet entry pane located on the right-hand side of the screen. To log your time:

1. Enter the date in the field provided.
2. Select non-chargeable. (Non-chargeable time is not associated with a specific client. Therefore, when you select non-chargeable the fields to enter client, matter, and charge rate will be removed.)
4. Select the fee earner from the F/E menu.
5. Select the activity.
6. Enter the time in units.
7. Enter a note in the memo field.
8. Submit the time by clicking log hours.

If setup to record by the day, full day time sheets are logged as eight hours and half day time sheets are logged as four hours.
